Create a basic link
A basic link links existing text on the current page to another page.
1. In the page area, select the text or picture that you want to use as a link (that is, the text or picture a visitor will click to go to another page).
You can select text or pictures in any section of the page area.
2. In the map, right-click the page to link to, then choose Link to this page.
If you are displaying the outline, you can also right-click the page title in the outline area to create a link to the page.
Notes
You can also create a basic link by selecting the text and choosing Link > Create Link Using > Selection, or right-clicking and choosing Link to a Page Using > Selection. Then, in the map or the outline, click the page to link to.
To test the link, click the link.
You cannot create a basic link to the current page; clicking on such a link would have no effect. If you attempt to do this, the selection remains unchanged.
You can create a link that shows the linked page’s title and, optionally, its summary.
You can also divide a page and automatically create a link between the two pages.
