Resize an object

Once you embed an object in a CuteSITE Builder page, a portion of it remains visible. You can adjust the size of this visible portion. For example, if you embed a spreadsheet, you want visitors to see a sufficient amount so they can either grasp its contents quickly and decide whether they want to double-click on the object to activate its underlying application.

You can adjust the size of the portion of the object that is visible, almost as if it were a picture. The exact appearance of the object depends on what kind of support is available from the object's editor.

Resize an object by dragging

1. Click the object to select it.

2. Drag the selection handles to any side to resize the object vertically or horizontally, or drag the corner selection handles to resize the object proportionally.

Resize an object using the Properties box

1. Right-click the object and choose Properties > Object.

2. Click the Resize tab.

3. (Optional) By default, CuteSITE Builder resizes proportionally (that is, maintains the height/width ratio of the visible portion of the object). If you want to change height or width without maintaining the object's proportions, clear the Maintain Proportions check box.

This setting has no effect on the actual embedded object, only on the way it displays when it is not being edited.

4. (Optional) By default, CuteSITE Builder resizes by percent. You can also resize by pixels. Click the drop-down arrow after the word Percent to change the method of resizing to Pixels.

5. Specify the amount you want to resize the extent of the object. If you are resizing proportionally, both the height and width settings change if you enter changes to either one.

OR

Click the Size to Area option to have CuteSITE Builder provide pixel settings that proportionally size the object image to best fit the border or page body in which it appears. In calculating the Size to Area settings, CuteSITE Builder does not recognize margins, so the object may overlap into the margin area.

Remember that in either case, how your numbers are interpreted depends on each application's degree of support for changing the extent.

6. (Optional) You can click Apply to see the effect your changes will have without closing the dialog box. You can then continue to adjust the object's extent, or click OK. At any time, you can reset the object's size to 100% by clicking Reset.

n   If you have inserted the same object in multiple places in the file, you must resize each individually.

n   You cannot resize an active object (that is, an object thats currently open in its native application).

n   If you select the Size to Area option for an object and then resize the page area in which the object appears, the object does not automatically resize. You must use the Object Properties dialog box again to size the object to the new dimensions of the page area that contains it.
