Opening, editing, renaming and deleting files

You can work with files on local and remote drives from within CuteFTP Pro.

To open a file

1. Click on a file in Local Drives or the Remote pane.

2. On the menu bar, go to File > Execute.  The correct program will open and display or run the file.

To edit a file

1. Click on a file in Local Drives or the Remote pane.

2. On the menu bar, go to File > Edit or File > View.  The file will open in CuteFTP Pro's built-in HTML editor.

3. Make any desired changes.

4. On the menu bar, go to File > Save, to save your changes.

To rename a file

1. Click on a file in Local Drives or the Remote pane.

2. On the menu bar, go to File > Rename.  

3. Type the new name for the file and press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Warning: if you change the extension when you rename the file, you may not be able to open the file in the proper program.

To delete a file

1. Click on a file in the Local Drives or the Remote pane.

2. On the menu bar, go to File > Delete.  CuteFTP Pro displays a message asking if you are sure you want to delete the file.

3. Click Yes.
