Editing the contents of a cell includes applying the text properties and attributes as well as inserting objects and dynamic elements. You can modify the contents of a cell directly on the edit window or using the Table window.
On the edit window, you must pay special attention to the location where you place the cursor in order to edit the contents of a cell or row of cells. If done incorrectly, the TD or TR tags could cause problems that would display the page incorrectly specially with the Netscape browser.
To verify the tags’ integrity, you can verify your document before you place it online in your site.
On the Table window, each table cell is separated by borders, which makes it easier to check the contents. However, if you have a lot of contents in the cells, you might not have enough space to display it all.
Select the TABLE opening and closing tag.
Click on Insert table. The Table window is displayed.
Place the cursor inside the cell whose contents you want to change.
From the Table
menu, select Edit Cell
or
Select Edit Cell from the context
menu.
The Cell Content window is
displayed.
All the cell content is visible and you can use the scroll bar to scroll
down. You can also enlarge the window using the Windows buttons found
on the upper right corner of the window.
Click on either of the two buttons Common and Specialized to access a set of the
most frequent commands used with cells.
To modify the cell:
Select the elements you want to change.
Click on either button and select the desired command.
Click on OK to return to the Table window.
The context menu contains editing commands such as Cut, Copy and Paste.
