Compress Options dialog
These are the fields in the Compress Options dialog box. Go to Toolbar > Edit > Settings > Compress Options.
Create new archive as:
This specifies the format in which the archive will be saved. The consistently available options are ZIP, CAB, GZip, Tar, PAK and PK3. You can also use ACE and ARJ if they are present on your system. Additionally, various self-extracting and encrypted renditions of the different archive types can be selected.
Default compression level:
This specifies the method of compression to use. Selections include Maximum, Normal, Low, Minimal and sometimes None. See Compression Options.
Default naming of new archives:
Select the method CuteZIP will use when assigning names to archives.
Use the name of the first file selected:
The first file name listed in the archive will be used.
Use the file name ____: Specify the file name to use.
New Archive Options
Automatically Include subfolders (recommended): When selected CuteZIP will include all subfolders in an archive. Unchecked, CuteZIP will only include the files in the top folder and ignore any other folders present.
Display New Archive (Save As... ) prompt when creating a new archive: CuteZIP will prompt for save information automatically. If you turn this off, then all defaults will be used for the archive name and location.
When encrypting, use Twofish 128-bit encryption: CuteZIP will use the Twofish encryption algorithm.
When encrypting, use PKZIP compatible encryption: CuteZIP will use an encryption method that is compatible with other major compression utilities.
Remember encryption password during an active session: When checked, CuteZIP will use the same encryption password for all archives it creates and extracts within the same session only.
