Site Manager Preferences

You can change many settings for individual sites you have saved in your Site Manager.

 

To change the settings for a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Make your changes and click OK.

 

To select a specific type of server for a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select the server from the Host Type list. You can connect to most FTP servers if you leave this at Auto-Detect.

  5. Click OK.

 

To select the default remote and local folder for a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. In Default Remote Folder, type the path to the folder on the server that you want to see first in the Remote Window.

  5. In Default Local Folder, type or browse to the path for the folder on your machine that you want to see first in the Local Window.

  6. Click OK.

 

To enter comments about a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. In Site Comments, type any remarks about the site that you want to save.

  5. Click OK.

 

To connect using PASV mode

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select the Use PASV mode check box.

  5. Click OK.

 

 To connect using PORT mode

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Clear the Use PASV mode check box.

  5. Click OK.

 

To change the login type for a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select Normal to login with a user name and password, select Anonymous to login without a user name and password.

  5. Click OK.

 

To select a specific type of transfer for a site

  1. On the menu bar,  choose File > Site Manager.

  2. Select the site you want to modify.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. In the Transfer Type area, select how you want files transferred. CuteFTP can transfer files in the proper format for most FTP servers if you leave this at Auto-Detect.

  5. Click OK.

 

To open the Site Manager automatically when CuteFTP Mac starts
  1. On the menu bar, choose CuteFTP Mac > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.

  2. In the Upon startup list, select Launch Site Manager.

  3. Click OK.
