Customizing a Dashboard

You can rename a dashboard, share it (or stop sharing), make it a Guest dashboard, and change the layout. However, you can only customize dashboards that you have created. Shared dashboards created by another user are view-only.

The easiest way to customize the look of the dashboard is to rearrange the widgets. However, keep in mind that if you are going to view this on a (Undefined variable: robotvariables.device), the widgets will display in order by column (first, second, third).

NOTE: For the purpose of customizing your dashboard, a widget group is considered a single widget and can be customized as such. For more on widget groups, see Working with Widget Groups.
  1. Toggle Edit mode On when viewing your dashboard.
  2. Hover over the widget you would like to move or split.
  3. To split a widget, click on one of the arrow icons to split the widget panel in half in that direction.
  4. To move a widget to a different panel, click on the Move icon. Then, click on the widget panel where you would like to move the widget. Note: If there is an existing widget in the target panel, that widget will be switched with the moving widget.
  1. Toggle Edit mode On when viewing your dashboard.
  2. Hover over the edge of the widget you would like to add white space around until a gray bar forms above the edge.
  3. Click within the gray bar and drag in the direction you would like to add white space. Release when enough white space has been added.

  1. On the Analytics home screen, select Dashboard from the navigation menu.

  2. Select the dashboard name.

  3. Toggle Edit mode On.

  4. Click the Edit button in the top left of the screen.

  5. In the resulting panel, edit the Name.

  6. Edit the Description.

  7. Select a Color Theme. This theme will apply to all widgets on this dashboard.

    NOTE: You can override this setting for an individual widget. See Working with Widgets for details.

  8. In the Time section, toggle Auto-Refresh On or Off and enter the amount of minutes between automatic dashboard refresh. The default setting is 5 minutes.

  9. Toggle Business Hours On or Off to define the business hours. If left turned off, this dashboard operates on a 24x7 basis.

  10. Edit the Default Time Range.

  11. Toggle Compare With Previous Period On or Off to specify whether or not you want to view the data for a previous period alongside the current period data within Graph and Key Indicator widgets.

    NOTE: You can override this setting within the Settings Tabs section of created Graph or Key Indicator widgets.

  12. In the Edit Rights section, select from a list of Users to allow others to edit this dashboard. See Dashboard Edit Rights for more information.

  13. Select from a list of Groups to allow others to edit this dashboard.

  14. In the Share With section, select from a list of Users to allow others to view this dashboard.

  15. Select from a list of Groups to allow others to view this dashboard.

  16. Press the Guest button to "On" to allow users who log on with the Guest profile to see this dashboard. The only thing Guest users can do is view dashboards marked as Guest. For more on the Guest profile, see Authentication.

  17. Press Save.
