SAP Jobs View
The SAP Jobs View lets you view all Jobs that are in the SAP schedule for an SAP instance. It is similar to the Monitor view within JAMS, but it only shows jobs in SAP and not the Jobs in JAMS. The SAP Integration must have been installed from the JAMS Installer or JAMSDBA to use the SAP Jobs view.
You also need to have an SAP Connection created in the JAMS Connection Store before you can access this screen. See Connections in JAMS for more information.
Accessing the SAP Jobs View
- From the Shortcuts menu, click SAP Jobs.
- On the SAP Server Login screen, select the appropriate connection from the Connection Store.
- Click OK.
- On the SAP Job Selection screen, do one or more of the following to display Jobs.
- Enter the date and time range.
- Enter a Job Name.
- Enter a User Name.
- Select a Job status. The options include Scheduled, Released, Ready, Active, Finished, or Canceled.
- Click OK. The SAP Jobs are filtered and displayed.
Finding an SAP Job
You can search for Jobs in SAP by filtering by one or more criteria.
- Access the SAP Jobs view.
- Click the Query icon.
- On the SAP Job Selection screen, do one or more of the following to find Jobs.
- Enter the date and time range.
- Enter a Job Name.
- Enter a User Name.
- Select a Job status. The options include Scheduled, Released, Ready, Active, Finished, or Canceled.
- Click OK. The SAP Jobs are filtered and displayed.
Converting an SAP Job
If you want JAMS to manage an existing SAP Job, you can convert it into a Job in JAMS that uses the SAPJobV2 Execution Method.
You will need to delete or disable the scheduling for the current SAP Job in SAP after you convert it. After you convert the Job, it will be displayed in the JAMS Monitor view when the Job runs.
You can convert more than one Job at a time by selecting multiple Jobs and clicking Convert All.
- Access the SAP Jobs view.
- Right-click the Job that you want to convert and select Convert. The Convert SAP Job dialog is displayed.
- In the Folder field, select the folder where the Job will be saved.
- In the Name field, enter a new name for the Job, if necessary.
- Optional - In the Description field, enter a description for the Job.
- In the Edit this job definition after adding field, select the checkbox to review and to make additional changes to the Job. (Fields including the Connection, Execute As Users, may need to be selected or modified if they were not set at the Folder level. If they were not selected at the Folder level, the values will be empty.)
- Click Convert. The Source tab for the Job is displayed.
- On the Source tab, review the selected options and make any necessary changes.
- On the Properties tab, review the selected options and make any necessary changes.
- Click Save and Close.
Deleting an SAP Job
You can delete a Job in SAP from within JAMS. If there are any dependencies to this Job, ensure they are resolved before you delete it.
- Access the SAP Jobs view.
- Right-click the Job that you want to delete and select Delete.
- Click Yes when prompted. The Job is deleted and is no longer visible in the SAP Client or in the SAP Jobs view in JAMS.
Copying an SAP Job
You can copy a Job in SAP from within JAMS.

Access the SAP Jobs view.

Right-click the Job that you want to copy and select Copy.

On the Copy SAP Job dialog, enter a new name for the copy.

Click Ok.

Click the Refresh button to see the copied Job.
Starting an Intercepted SAP Job
If an SAP Job is in the Intercepted state, you can release it from within JAMS and have SAP run it as soon as possible. You can release the Job from JAMS or SAP.

Access the SAP Jobs view.

Right-click the Job that is in the Intercepted state and select Release.

Click Yes when prompted.

Click the Refresh button to view the updated status.
