Working with Object Reports

Object reports detail the authority to different object types on your system. Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i provides the following predefined Object report groups. Each report group includes individual reports you can select to run.

When you select to run an Object report, the tab allows you to set object limits for the selected reports.

NOTE: When you select to run an Object report, the Object Limits tab allows you to set object limits for the selected reports.
  • Commands
    • Command Authorities
    • Commands allowed for Limited Users
    • IBM Commands with Public Authority not *EXCLUDE
    • Objects by Last Access
    • Objects by Location (ASP)
    • Objects by Owner
    • Objects by Type
    • Objects larger by 1 Mb
NOTE: When running Object reports for IFS, the entry PLCMOWN must be added to the distribution directory (using the WRKDIRE command on the Consolidator system) in order to allow all directory information, including subdirectories, to be used in reports.

To manually request an object report

  1. Right-click the Endpoint or Group of Endpoints you would like to run the report (assessment) for and choose Request Assessment.

  2. Select the report(s) you want to run. You can add a description for the set of reports.

    3. When selecting Object reports (Authority) you will be asked to select the Object Limits.

  1. Click the Object Limits tab. Object Limits are based on where you want to pull the information from.

    2. / (Root), /QSYS.LIB/, or a particular library /QSYS.LIB/TEST.LIB/. You can also include all subdirectories.

  • When selecting Object reports, select your Object Limits (/QSYS.LIB/) and then select the object types (*FILE, *PGM, *USRPRF, etc.) from the Object Types tab.

    1. Click Save then Finish to request the object report.
