Starting and ending Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i

NOTE: The installation procedure creates libraries, profiles, authorization lists, commands, objects, and, in some cases, exit points on your system. Changing the configuration of any of these installed application components may result in product failure.

The Consolidator manages Assessment requests and stores the audit data for its Endpoints. It also stores report definitions, product security settings, data retention settings, and policy definitions.

You sign on to a Consolidator system when you connect to Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i through your browser. The Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i Consolidator code is installed on each system that you want to be a Consolidator. You can have multiple Consolidator systems, each with its own set of Endpoints. The Consolidator system also can be an Endpoint.

Enter the following commands to start/stop the Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i Consolidator job, QP0ZSPWT, in the PTWRKMGT subsystem:

 
STRPTCMCSL ENDPTCMCSL (End Command)

On the Endpoint

Enter the following to start/stop the Endpoint monitor job, PLCMMON in the PTWRKMGT subsystem.

 
STRPTCMEPT ENDPTCMEPT (End Command)
NOTE: Endpoint monitors start automatically when an assessment is requested.

From your Browser

To connect to the Consolidator system from your browser, enter the following url:

http://sysname:3035/ptcm

Where:

  • sysname is the name of the system where the Consolidator is installed
  • 3035 is the default port number used by Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i
NOTE: If using Exit Point Manager, verify that PLCMADM and PLCM2ADM have been set to allow access to *DATAQSRV and *RMTSRV.

The first time you log on to Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i, you must sign on as the administrator.
