System Reports
Powertech recommends that you define an appropriate set of system values in your security policy and that you run system values reports on a regular basis to find any deviations from the policy. System reports highlight any values that differ from the value specified in your security policy.
Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i collects data on all system values on the system and provides the following predefined System reports:
- All System Values
- Audit Related System Values
- Password Related System Values
- Security Related System Values
- System Values - Side-By-Side
- System Values by Category
In addition to the standard IBM system values, which all begin with the letter Q (for example, QSECURITY, QPWDMINLEN, and so on), Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i also collects data on other important system settings. These are defined in Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i as system values by the Powertech category, Security-General. These system values all begin with the letter Z.
Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i also provides two System Values Scorecards:
- System Values (*POLICY) Scorecard—A scorecard rating report for system values based on policy.
- System Values Scorecard—A scorecard rating report for system values.
