Core Security

Event Manager

Version 7.0.0

June 2, 2026

Enhancements
  • Updated the internal environment version to Python 3. The new version brings technical improvements, a more up‑to‑date ecosystem, and continued official support, including maintenance and security updates.

  • Added the ability to configure any 'Time zone' value for collected events for any DataSource on an audited SQL Server if you have 'Use SQL Server Audit' setting enabled.

  • Added new information for tty and terminal variables to VAR08 and VAR09 in Linux Security events

  • There is now a maximum of two rotating files with 100 MB each for the DataAdapter.log file to stop it from increasing indefinitely.

  • Added new parameter 'optimizeHistMaintenanceCopyEvents' for T4BD.config controlling the copy of events from History database to Archive database during the maintenance process. The default value will be 'false', meaning that the optimization won't be enabled. This value can only be changed to true if the last maintenance process has ended successfully.

  • Added new events AVE0106 and AVE0107 (Scan Task errors and warnings) to Powertech Antivirus for IBMi integration.

  • For assets of type 'VMWare vCenter Server' we will audit new event types: 'UserPasswordChanged' and 'com.vmware.sso.PrincipalManagement'.

Fixes
  • Event Manager now stores the IFS object path in column 'Object Name' for "SIEM Agent for IBM i" events of type "Object Deletion". This requires the Event Description Text for "TDO All delete operations on the system" to be modified, replacing &DOOLIB&/&DOONAM& with &DOPNM&.

  • Increased the default timeout for databases maintenance, defragmenting index Pk_T4EVENTLOG.

  • Fixed issue where if you used 'Data Maintenance Check' view, no daily message with the maintenance status was shown. And in certain situations, data maintenance could get blocked indefinitely.

  • Fixed issue where if monitors had messages with some special characters, when starting ThinkServer configurator no monitor were loaded. There were errors "... [ERROR] Could not retrieve list of monitors from... Error message: An exception occurred parsing XML..." in file LocalLog.log.

  • Some Fortigate events were registered with an unexpected eventid. This new eventid is now been supported alongside the previous ones.

  • Fixed issue where if you start a Database Reader Custom Datasource with parameter 'Back date hours / indexes' different than 0, events can be lost in the first refresh.

  • Fixed issue where some 'Logon Failure' events were not collected for Syslog DataSource of Linux systems.

  • Fixed issue where Events Control Service could get blocked and events stopped arriving until it was restarted.

  • Fixed issue where in some environments PMDB module could have errors "The query processor ran out of internal resources and could not produce a query plan" causing missing data on "Forensic Analysis > Overview" charts.

  • Fixed issue where Windows Service "Events Control Service" could crash if SQL errors were generated.

  • Sometimes 'AccessServer' module were not able to retrieve primary domain controller of the domain for the user we want to choose as the Security Administrator of the product. Error in logs was: "Could not find domain controller for this domain". Now an alternative method is used which fixes this issue.

  • Fixed issue where if the system where the product is installed has more than one IP address application, 'Settings Configurator' could fail with an error 'Unknown error when trying to connect to SmartConsole'.

  • Fixed issue where if there are audited assets DataSources with the 'Actions and subactions automatic discovery' setting enabled, we could have errors in the Forensic Analysis Overview grid when actions or subactions discovered the character " or leading blanks.

  • Fixed issue where PMDB log files (usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Help Systems\PMDB\logs) grew in size indefinitely.

  • Fixed issue where the service 'HelpSystems - PMDB' could get blocked if it was running on a system with a timezone having Daylight Saving Time changes exactly at 00:00 hours. When this service is blocked several charts in the product don't work.

  • Fixed issue where error 'Could NOT parse json document' when collecting events in Devices of type Microsoft Azure Cloud (Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online or Azure Active Directory).

  • Fixed issue where a report could occasionally get stuck in the initial status "Queued" when running from the Reports module.

  • Fixed issue where a 'Powertech Antivirus for IBMi' asset type did not collect events for new versions of Powertech Antivirus for IBMi.

  • Fixed issue where Windows service 'User Directory Service' could crashed repeatedly with an exception in module KERNELBASE.dll.

  • Fixed issue where if SQL server full text search is installed when Event Manager is already installed and its databases created, the catalog and index created do not include all the necessary columns.

  • Event Manager syslog agent can now process many messages in a short period of time (at least several hundred thousand in a few minutes) without crashing.

  • Fixed issue where the product's PMDB service could fail if there was an occasional disconnection from the database.

  • Added new attribute 'executorsPoolBlockedTimeOut' (measured in seconds) at T4BD.config file to control automatic restart of 'HelpSystems - Events Control Service" if internal connection pool to database is blocked. This blocking issue have been replicated very infrequently and causes product to stop working. The new attribute, if set, will detect this issue an restart service automatically, which should fix the problem.

  • Fixed issue where Events Control Service could fail with error 'Error creating inter process lock for inserting annotations' in log because it was running as Network Service. It now runs as Local System Account.

Digital Guardian

Agent for Linux

Version: 12.2.2

June 2026

New Features
  • No new features in this release.

Fixes
  • Resolved an issue in which the DG Prompt was displayed after a 30-second delay on Red Hat machines with accessibility enabled.

  • Resolved an issue where the classification metadata sidecar prevented nested directories from being deleted.

DLP Analytics and Reporting

Version: 5.9.0

June, 2026

New Features & Enhancements
  • This release introduces support for grandparent process information, providing deeper visibility into process lineage. The Events and Alarm Summary pages now display the Grandparent Application field in the event slider across the Email, Process Details, and Other sections (when available). Users can also filter using the Grandparent Application and Grandparent MD5 fields through advanced filter options. Additionally, these fields can be added as columns from the Custom Workspace > Show Component > Process Details tab.

These enhancements extend visibility beyond the immediate parent process, helping users better understand the origin of activity and investigate events more efficiently.

  • In this release, detection rule Alarm actions now support configurable alarm statuses. Users can select a visible standard or custom alarm status using the new Status field when configuring a Create Alarm action. When the detection rule triggers, the generated alarm is created with the selected status. If no status is configured, the alarm defaults to New.

  • Sample Match now supports scanning ZIP files. When a ZIP file contains classified content, the Sample Match view displays the ZIP file name, the file inside the ZIP archive where the match was detected, and the associated classification name. Users can view these details in the Sample Match dialog and the See All Matches view available from the event slider. This enhancement provides better visibility into classified content stored within compressed files and improves reporting accuracy.

Fixes
  • Resolved an issue where updates to workspaces were not reflected for users accessing them through pinned or Home views, even after refreshing the page. With this fix, the latest workspace changes are now properly loaded upon page refresh or upon initiating a new session.

  • Resolved an issue where disabled incident creation actions continued to generate incidents for detection rules in DG ARC.

  • Resolved an issue where incident links in email notifications opened the home workspace instead of the Incident Details workspace in DG ARC.

  • Resolved an issue where ARC rejected valid email addresses containing top-level domains (TLDs) longer than seven characters when adding entries to a watchlist.

  • Resolved an issue where exporting data from the Investigation workspace did not start after clicking the Export button in DG ARC.

Agent for macOS

Version: 10.1.0

June, 2026

New Features
  • DG Agent for macOS 10.1.0 and later now supports interception of file transfer operations performed through the Messages application. Supported methods include copy/paste actions, drag-and-drop, Finderbased sharing, and the Conversation > Send File option.

To enable this feature, import the latest implicit.bin file into DGMC and apply it to the Dynamic Group associated with the DG macOS Agent.

NOTE: File sharing from Microsoft Office applications is currently unsupported. For rule configuration details, refer to the Digital Guardian Agent for macOS 10.1.0 Users Guide> chapter Support for Messages Application.
  • The DG Agent for macOS supports the Sample Match feature for Adaptive Content Inspection. When enabled, the DG Agent captures both match counts and sample matching content from inspected files and email events. This feature helps analysts review events more effectively in DGMC and ARC forensic reports.

  • The dga_buildw installer now includes the following prompt when creating a PKG installer:

    Include additional applications (e.g. DGCIApp) [y/n]? (n)

If the user responds with ‘Y’, the generated PKG includes the DGCIApp. By default, the installer sets this option to N/n.

For more information, refer to the Installing DG Agent Using a Package chapter in the Digital Guardian Agent for macOS 10.1.0 User’s Guide.

  • The dgmac_getinfo.sh utility used for collecting DG diagnostics has been enhanced to collect installed MDM profiles from the machine. This enhancement helps troubleshoot issues related to incorrect MDM profiles and Transparent proxy ordering when multiple VPN proxies are present on the system.

  • The DG Agent for macOS now includes the required MDM profiles in the DG Agent Build > Resources Directory > MDM Profiles location. The included MDM profiles can be imported directly into Jamf through the Jamf UI. For other MDM solutions, refer to the respective product documentation for instructions on importing mobileconfig files.

Fixes
  • Resolved an issue where file copy operations to SSD storage devices generated two file events, with the second event incorrectly attributed to the root user. In some environments, this could result in unintended policy or rule triggers. Both file copy events are now correctly attributed to the logged-in user, ensuring that the appropriate policy is applied.

  • Resolved an issue where the DGCIApp was not installed when the DG Agent PKG was deployed through an MDM solution. For additional information about DGCIApp inclusion during PKG generation, see the New Features section of the Digital Guardian Agent for macOS Release Notes v10.1.0, available on the Fortra Support Portal.

  • Resolved an issue where the dgctl utility did not work as expected after a DG Agent installation or upgrade.

  • Resolved an issue with ADEPaste where source file information was not displayed correctly in ARC and DGMC reports.

  • Resolved an issue that could cause delays when processing files imported through Frame.io on macOS. For information about the Resource File Changes and Process Flag File Changes sections, refer to the Digital Guardian Agent for macOS Release Notes v10.1.0, available on the Fortra Support Portal.

For information about Known Issues in Mac 10.1.0 release, see the Known Issues section in Digital Guardian Agent for macOS Release Notes v10.1.0 available at Fortra Support Portal

Vityl IT & Business Monitoring

Version 7.0.0

June 2, 2026

New Features
  • When we reset an issue, we can now refresh the associated monitor. Therefore, if that issue still exists after resetting, we will receive a new issue.

Enhancements
  • Updated the internal environment version to Python 3. The new version brings technical improvements, a more up‑to‑date ecosystem, and continued official support, including maintenance and security updates.

  • There is now a maximum of two rotating files with 100 MB each for the DataAdapter.log file to stop it from increasing indefinitely.

  • New parameter 'optimizeHistMaintenanceCopyEvents' for T4BD.config controlling the copy of events from History database to Archive database during the maintenance process. The default value will be 'false', meaning that the optimization won't be enabled. This value can only be changed to true if the last maintenance process has ended successfully.

Fixes
  • Fixed isssue where IBMi assets 'Job Temporary Storage Usage' control ‘Success’ message did not report total temporary storage used.

  • The default timeout for databases maintenance, defragmenting index Pk_T4EVENTLOG, has been increased.

  • Fixed issue where the IBM i System connection was lost when there was a single quote (') in the complete message filter of SmartConsole events.

  • Fixed issue where if monitors had messages with some special characters, when starting ThinkServer configurator no monitor were loaded. There were errors "... [ERROR] Could not retrieve list of monitors from... Error message: An exception occurred parsing XML..." in file LocalLog.log.

  • Fixed issue where some monitors could fail when setting attribute 'Interfaces By Name' to true for network devices.

  • Fixed issue where devices could fail if they were using Network Discovery and the discovered 'Network interface' elements had special characters as (,),[,].

  • Fixed issue where Events Control Service could get blocked and events stopped arriving until it was restarted.

  • "SSL connections for iSeries/IBMi did not work properly. Attributes 'Trust Store File' and 'Trust Store Password' have been added to credentials. Also chapter 'Configuring an SSL

  • Connection for IBMi' from 'Vityl IT & Business Monitoring Guide to Templates' manual have been updated accordingly."

  • Fixed issue where if "Additional sign-on factor" is *ENABLED on an IBMi with OS version 7.6, the monitor failed with "Password is not correct" or similar error.

  • Fixed issue where IBMi assets 'Library Size Increase and Library Group Size Increase' did not correctly calculate the percentage of increase (it was reported less than the real value).

  • Fixed issue where IBMi assets 'Worst/Best Response Time' were not correctly reporting the average response time of interactive transactions. They now report the average response time for the job with the highest (worst) and the lowest(best).

  • Sometimes 'AccessServer' module were not able to retrieve primary domain controller of the domain for the user we want to choose as the Security Administrator of the product. Error in logs was: "Could not find domain controller for this domain". Now an alternative method is used which fixes this issue.

  • Updated the 'SNMP Trap' tool used in SmartConsole module. This previously only worked when SmartConsole ran as a windows service. Now it works when it runs as an application as well. This tool must be installed separately.

  • Fixed issue where if the system where the product is installed has more than one IP address application, 'Settings Configurator' could fail with an error 'Unknown error when trying to connect to SmartConsole'.

  • Fixed issue where monitors for ASP could fail on IBM i OS 7.5 systems.

  • Fixed issue where Linux monitors 'FileSystem Availability' and 'FileSystem Usage' failed in some environments with error: "Error executing command ... Return: -1 ErrorCode: -1 Message: [?2004".

  • Fixed issue where a report could occasionally get stuck in the initial status "Queued" when running from the Reports module.

  • Fixed issue where if SQL server full text search is installed when Event Manager is already installed and its databases created, the catalog and index created do not include all the necessary columns.

  • Fixed issue where the product's PMDB service could fail if there was an occasional disconnection from the database.

  • Fixed issue where health messages could be lost if an issue was reset when the database time zone was behind time zone where product was installed.

  • Fixed issue where vityl health messages could be lost if communication between modules SmartConsole and Nicelink was broken for any reason.

  • While monitoring journal elements of IBMi assets if there were some error reported by the IBMi (as for example an authorization error) this error did not arrive to Vityl. Now, this issue is displayed and user can take the appropriate steps to fix it.

  • Fixed issue where Linux monitors 'CPU Usage' , 'Virtual Memory' and 'Physical Memory' failed in some environments with error: "Error executing command ... Return: -1 ErrorCode: -1 Message: [?2004".

  • Fixed issue where QZRCSRVS jobs were created indefinitely if IBM i asset monitors were in error.

  • In large environments with thousands of devices/assets and tens of thousands of elements, Orchestrator service process could have 'bad allocation' errors due to excessive memory consumption. This issue has been fixed.

  • When creating or editing an action of an alarm in SmartConsole module we can choose option 'Execute an OS/400 Command Sequence'. While configuring a command you have an option F4 for prompting for command parameters. This prompting for parameters now works correctly.
