Change page properties
Right-click a page in the map and choose Properties > Page. The Page Properties dialog box appears.
On the Fields tab, you can set or view:
Six fields that describe the page, including its Title, Short Title, Summary, Author, Keywords, and Comments.
The page’s ID. The page ID is a number assigned by CuteSITE Builder whenever you create a new page. Within a file, each page ID is unique. You cannot change a page’s ID.
On the Custom Fields tab, you can set or view up to three custom fields.
On the Page Area tab, you can set the following:
To set page body or border properties, click the button for that page area. The Properties box for the page area appears.
On the Advanced tab you can choose prompt text that will appear for each border.
On the Extension tab you can choose the extension of the page's file name. The default is .htm, you can also choose from .htm, .html, .php .asp, .cfm, .jsp, .shtml, .xslt, or .xml.
Notes
Page area properties include margins, background color, edge color, and default text styles.
A page’s title appears when you hover over the page on the map.
Short titles of pages appear in the map as non-editable labels when you display the map at 200%. If a page doesn’t have a short title, CuteSITE Builder displays the first few characters of the title. Choose Map > Main > 200% to change the detail level of the map.
You can insert information from a page’s Properties dialog box as a field in the page’s borders or page body. For example, you can insert a title field in the top border of a page. Once you insert a field, changes you make to the page’s Properties dialog box are immediately reflected in the field text. Conversely, whenever you directly edit the text of the field, CuteSITE Builder automatically updates the information in the page's Properties dialog box.
You can also insert a field into another page as a field link. As with inserted fields, field links automatically update if you change the information in the page’s Properties dialog box, and the information in the page’s Properties box automatically updates if you edit the field link.
Border priority determines how CuteSITE Builder displays overlapping borders. The border you specify as first priority covers any overlapping borders to either side. The border with second priority covers any overlapping borders not already covered by the first border, and so on. Border priority also determines how CuteSITE Builder allocates space if two or more borders have sizes greater than the current window can accommodate.
The Advanced tab is used for associating user text with page layout areas while creating or modifying Web designs.
When you publish your Web site file, each page is published as a separate file with its own unique name. By default CuteSITE Builder will publish files with names like "index.htm", or "id18.htm". On the Extension tab you can change the last three characters of the page's published name. The .htm and .html extensions are for simple web pages. The other extensions listed are for pages that use scripts and connect to databases for content.
If you change the file extension your pages may not display the same way in Preview as they do when you publish them, and CuteSITE Builder will warn you of this. You can turn off the warning by clicking Tools > Options > General and under Show warning when previewing pages clearing the if any pages have extension other than "htm" or "html" check box.
