Before you can connect remotely to the Server Engine, you must setup the server to receive the remote connection.
Note: Your remote computer's user account must have administrative privileges on the computer where the server is located, in order to reconnect, start, or stop the service remotely. See all topics under Initial Setup.
On computer (A) where the server is actually installed, start the Administrator Interface.
Connect to the server (locally) you wish to allow remote administration access.
In the right pane, click the Remote Administration tab.
In the Administrator home IP list, choose the IP address you will use to connect to this server.
In Administrator port, enter the port you will use to connect to this server. 1000 is the default port, however you can change this port to anything you like.
Select the Allow remote administration check box.
Click Apply.
Close the Administrator Interface but make sure that the server service is still running (from the control panel service applet).
On computer (B) which you will use to administer the server (Computer A), start the Administrator Interface.
In the left pane, select the group where you want to add the remote server.
On the menu bar, choose File > Add New FTP Server. The Register new FTP Server window appears.
In name, enter the name of the server you chose in step three.
Choose Remote host.
In the Host box, enter the same IP address you entered in step five.
In the Port box, enter the same number you did in step six.
Click Save.
