Remote Administration tab

Location: On the left window's Server tab, click Server.

Purpose: Configure your server for remote administration.

Note: CuteFTP Server allows you to administer the server from any computer. In order to administer the server remotely, you must have a copy of the Administrator Interface installed.

Administrator Home IP

Select the IP where the administrative port will be located. This is necessary because CuteFTP Server allows you to host sites on computers with multiple IPs. You have the option of accepting a connection on all incoming IPs rather than just one.

Administrator Port

This is the port used for local and remote administration. Remember this port if you intend to administer your server remotely, because this is the port that your remote GUI will connect to. For increased security, change this port from the default. The assigned port number may be any number up to 65,535.

Note: Assigning a port number under 1024 may lead to conflicts with other programs running on your computer. You should generally select a port number between 1024 and 65,535.

Allow remote administration

This box must be checked to allow you to administer the server from any remote location.
