Starting the Server on a local computer

CuteFTP Server starts automatically and runs as an NT service. If you have stopped the service or it doesn't start automatically, you can start it through the Services option in the Windows Control Panel (located on Windows 2000 under Administrative Tools) or through the server’s Administrator Interface.

 

To start the service using the Administrator Interface

  1. Start the Administrator Interface and connect to the server.

  2. From the menu bar, choose Edit > Service Applet Settings. The Transfer Engine Service Settings dialog box will appear.

  3. Click the Start service button.

 

To start the server using the Services option in the Control Panel

  1. Click the Windows Start button.

  2. Choose Settings > Control Panel. (Windows 2000 Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools)

  3. Double-click the Services icon.

  4. Select CuteFTP FTP Server from the list.

  5. Click the Start button to restart the server engine.

  6. Click Close.

 

To start the server from the command line

  1. On the task bar, click Start > Run.

  2. Type cmd or command.

  3. Click OK.

  4. At the prompt type, Net start "cuteftp server" (include the quote marks).

  5. After the service is started type Exit.
