Batch Report Information

The Batch Report Information window allows you to specify a name and description for the batch assessment and define the schedule when assessment should run.

How to Get There

Right-click the Consolidator and choose Batch Assessments/Reporting. Click New or Edit.

Specify the following information for the report:

  • Name: Enter a name for the assessment.
  • Description: Enter a brief description for the assessment.
  • Batch Assessment ID: After the batch assessment has run once, a batch ID is assigned to the assessment. You can use this ID to run the assessment from a command line using the Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i Batch Report Selection (PTCMT2/CM2BCHREQ) command. Or, use it with a job scheduler (such as the IBM scheduler or Robot/SCHEDULE) to schedule the assessment.

Use the Schedule to run section to select one of the following scheduling options:

  • Not Scheduled - this assessment will be started manually: The batch assessment does not run on a schedule; you must start the assessment manually.
  • Use the Consolidator's internal scheduler: Specify the following schedule information; Compliance Monitor uses the Consolidator's scheduler to run the assessment.
    • Start at: Specify the time the assessment should run. You can select a time from the selection drop down, which displays time options in 15-minute intervals, or enter a time.
    • On these days: Select the days of the week when the assessment should run. You can select multiple days.
  • Use Robot/SCHEDULE for scheduling: Select this option if you have Help/Systems' Robot/SCHEDULE job scheduling software installed on your system. Robot/SCHEDULE offers a large number of scheduling options that can completely automate your assessment needs.
NOTE: If the assessment is unable to start at the scheduled time, it is deferred until the next scheduled run day and time. Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i does not allow the assessment to start later than its scheduled time.

Click Robot Job Setup to display the Robot/SCHEDULE Job Setup window. Use it to enter a name and description of the job, the times the job should run, and the days of the week to run the job.

NOTE:
  • Once you've set up your Powertech Compliance Monitor for IBM i batch assessment in Robot/SCHEDULE, you can use Robot/SCHEDULE to modify the job and apply additional scheduling options.
  • The Robot/SCHEDULE option appears grayed out if Robot/SCHEDULE is not installed on your system.
