Version 14.4.6
Network Traffic Controller module
- A graphical “Start/Stop” Client/Server checking feature now prompts for confirmation when the Administrator starts or stops the Client/Server.
Security Audit and Detection module
- Changes have been made to the QAUDJRN processing, including:
- The maximum amount of ‘Entry Specific Data’ had been increased due to IBM documentation changes:
- AD from 5831 to 5844
- CP from 391 to 11013
- SF from 1132 to 1136
- SK from 960 to 1170
- The Secure Socket Connection text for default Message Id MLT1651 has been changed to include the event identifier on the first (summary) line.
- Separate Message Id’s have been included for some Secure Socket Connection Entry Types:
- A Accept MLT1956
- C Connect MLT1957
- I Inbound UDP traffic MLT1958
- O Outbound UDP traffic MLT1959
- Three additional IBM i 7.3 auditing values are available when configuring QAUDJRN collection:
- *NETSECURE Secure network connections are audited
- *NETTELSVR Telnet Server connections are audited
- *NETUDP User Datagram Protocol (UDP) traffic is audited
- The maximum amount of ‘Entry Specific Data’ had been increased due to IBM documentation changes:
Risk and Compliance Monitor module
- The data area @MS/MSDTA1340 is no longer required for running the RCM reports on V7R2 (IBM i 7.2).
- The Retrieve Information for IFS (RTVINFIFS) command retrieves the authority details for the root (‘/’) directory.
- The Graphical filter processing for the PROFILE Information Category has been corrected to ensure filters work successfully on the second and subsequent ‘detail.’
Multiple Systems Administrator module
- The ‘save release’ levels now include IBM i 7.3 (V7R3M0).
- The Remote Sign On (RMTSIGNON) command has been enhanced to allow the use of special values for the Main and Backup DHM system names:
- *DHM Current Main DHM
- *BKPDHM Current Backup DHM
For example, with these special values the System Administrator does not need to keep changing the actual system name(s) if the RMTSIGNON command is used on a menu and a Backup DHM has been configured and later activated.
-
Designated Host Machine Integrity Verification. It is now possible to verify the integrity of the Designated Host Machine (DHM) within the network. For example, if when running Activate Backup DHM (ACTBKPDHM) one of the systems had been unavailable, the DHM integrity can be verified. This then ensures all systems know of and use the same Main DHM. The verification processing can be run at any time from within Work with Network Configurator.
Powerful User Passport module
- If a job is held, based on the action setting within the Visa, the job is no longer ended. Previously, after a job had been held, the next time the job was checked it would be ended.

- *NETSECURE Secure network connections are audited
- *NETTELSVR Telnet Server connections are audited
- *NETUDP User Datagram Protocol (UDP) traffic is audited
- The maximum amount of ‘Entry Specific Data’ had been increased due to IBM documentation changes:
General Enhancements
- License Code Changes. When running a command that checks more than one DetectIT module (e.g. DSPPCSUSR), the message relating to an invalid module is no longer sent to the joblog.
- Compatibility with IBM i V7R3. Version 14.4.6 of DetectIT is the first version to be compatible with V7R3 of the IBM i operating system. If you are planning to install or upgrade to V7R3 (IBM i 7.3), please ensure that you plan to install, or upgrade to, Version 14.4.6 of DetectIT at the same time.
- The DetectIT ‘Deployment Guide’ and ‘Upgrade Instructions’ documents have changed:
- Smart Security Console Removed: References to the ‘Smart Security Console’ have been removed from the Deployment Guide. The console had been superseded by Compliance Center for i. Instructions within previous versions of the Deployment Guide contained steps for how to ‘uninstall’ the Smart Security Console.
- References to older IBM Terminology Removed: References to ‘AS/400’ and ‘OS/400’ have been removed from both the ‘Deployment Guide’ and also the ‘Upgrade Instructions’.
- All the Graphical module Sign On windows show “CAPS ON” warning to the right of the password entry if the “Caps Lock” key has been pressed and entry is to be made in upper case.
Bugs fixed
- The IP address is no longer logged as all zeros when job starts and Message Id CPIAD02 is processed. (The situation would occur if the CPIAD02 detail contained the host or server name but not a specific IP address.)
- Deletion of the system via Network Configurator now checks for Backup DHM. (If the system being deleted had been configured as the Backup DHM, the deletion prevented another system from being assigned as the Backup DHM.)
- The authority list for root (/) in IFS is now generated during RTVINFIFS. The specific authorities associated with the root (/) directory were not being retrieved as part of RTVINFIFS command.
- When no audit details have been configured, there is now an indication on the report from configuration or activation of Backup DHM. If no audit details were configured for a specific system, there was no indication on the appropriate report. The fix ensures a timestamp is printed together with the text: “Not configured”.
- When Backup DHM is configured, the Tree Structure is now cleared and/or updated correctly. The Tree Structure could be cleared down on the Main DHM but would not be cleared off the Backup DHM.
- The object name is now recorded correctly if a QCMDEXC run request is captured via NTC. The object name would contain ten characters of the actual request. For QCMDEXC, this could include the opening parenthesis, a quote, plus possibly the first character of the command to be run. For example, (without the quotes) “QCMDEXC (‘W”, when attempting CALL QCMDEXC (‘WRKACTJOB’ 9).
