Version 5.1

June 2, 2025

New Features
  • A tenant domain is no longer required during customer onboarding, but this information must then be provided if the installer does not detect this information in the Fortra-provided license file.

  • Added option to encrypt DCS Policy Manager data that is written to a database.

  • You can now configure Schemas, Policies, and Configurations and publish a TCPG file for DCS for Data at Rest (DaR) in the Policy Manager. Read the following for more details:

    • If you are transitioning from the Administration Console, you need a new license to access the Policy Manager site. You can import a TCPG file that you published in the Administration Console but review the Policy Manager documentation for more information on known issues.

    • Policy Manager supports new “Add SharePoint managed metadata” and “Apply date offset” actions for DCS for DaR that are not available in the Administration Console.

    • Policy Manager supports a “Set classification – scans” action. The default parameter values in Policy Manager match the default Administration Console values for the DCS for DaR “Set Classification” action.

  • You can now configure Schemas, Policies, and Configurations and publish a Configuration for the customer-hosted DCS One (On-premises) in the Policy Manager. Read the following for more details:

    • DCS Services Layer (On-premises) deployment is required.

    • If you want to scan sensitive content, DCS One (On-premises) supports the on-premises Data Detection Engine Custom Condition that requires deployment of a Data Detection Engine Server. Only DCS One (Cloud), which is configured in DCS Policy Manager (Cloud), supports the cloud version of the Data Detection Engine Custom Condition.

  • For DCS for Windows and DCS for DaR licensed users:

    • Added Predefined Matches that can be used in Content Validation Profiles. The resources are the same as the Library Matches in the Administration Console, but the names have been changed to provide more clarity on their use. Editing the "Replacement text" for Predefined Matches creates a copy in the Custom Matches library. You can configure additional parameters after creating a copy.

    • Added Smart Regular Expression Custom Condition. This new DCS Policy Manager Custom Condition functions similar to the Titus.SmartRegex.Extensibility.SmartRegexCustomCondition Dynamic Property in the DCS Administration Console. Key differences include:

      • You can enter a custom JSON in DCS Policy Manager instead of needing to upload a custom JSON file.

      • The “Password” parameter is not supported in DCS Policy Manager.

    • Added new CAD adapter information in published TCPG files.

    • Added support for publishing Microsoft Entra ID (formerly known as Microsoft Azure Active Directory) user groups data in TCPG files.

  • For DCS for Windows licensed users:

    • Added new “Show Classification Information Bar Menu Text” App Setting (under Office Add-in Settings).

    • Added new “Number of Favorites to Show in the Ribbon” App Setting (under Favorites).

    • Added PowerPoint Windows support for the “Bookmark prefix” parameter of the “Apply advanced header and footer” action.

    • Removed “Use Microsoft Entra” and “Use Application Certificate to Authenticate” Microsoft Entra App Settings (under DCS System Settings).

Enhancements
  • Improved TCPG file importing capabilities to include:

    • Conditions that include Schema metadata properties

    • Content Validation Profiles (imported as Content Scans in the Policy Manager)

    • RunContentValidation Dynamic Properties (imported as Run Content Scans Custom Condition in the Policy Manager)

    • Schema Views include enabled Schema Fields as configured in the Administration Console.

    • The Administration Console “Required” Schema Fields setting is the same as the Policy Manager “Force selection” Schema Fields setting. The configured data can be migrated from the Administration Console to Policy Manager.

  • Updated all File event properties to be multivalued in Policy Manager code. Administration Console policy configurations require administrators to click a "Repeat Rule" checkbox for certain message and file properties. In the Policy Manager, multivalued event properties show "All", "None of", "One of", or "Which" in the condition builder.

  • Enhanced audit logs to include more action details for Policies.

  • Updated from .NET 6.0 to .NET 8.0.

  • Improved installer user experience as follows:

    • Certificate options are filtered to ensure the administrator installing the product selects the correct type of certificate.

    • The machine's Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) is automatically populated in the host name field.

    • After the installation is complete, you can click a "Launch DCS Console" hyperlink to quickly access the DCS Console website, which includes DCS Policy Manager.

Fixes
  • Fixed Target Group dropdown on the Publish Configurations page to display all user groups in an organization's Microsoft Active Directory domain.
