Alternate registration methods

Since all serial numbers are verified through the Internet, the potential for errors exists during the process. If you are receiving errors while attempting to register CuteFTP Server you may manually register the program by submitting your registration to us by e-mail or through our Web site.

• Register manually

• Register by e-mail

• Register by Web

• Adjust proxy settings

To register manually

1. Choose Help > Enter your serial number.

2. Enter your Serial Number and Name in the appropriate fields.

3. Click the Register manually check box.

4. Fill out the remainder of the information fields.

5. Click the Register button.

6. A Manual Registration box will appear with Copy to Clipboard and Register on the Web buttons. The Copy to Clipboard button allows you to copy and paste the registration information into your e-mail program or into a special form on our Web site that allows us to register the software for you. Click the Copy to Clipboard button.

Note

You cannot register a trial version of the software manually.

To manually register by e-mail (continued from above)

1. Create an e-mail to manreg@globalscape.com. Right-click and Paste in the body of the message.

2. Send the message. Please do not modify the format of the text.

3. We will process your registration e-mail and send you a registration file with instructions.

To manually register by submitting to the GlobalSCAPE Web site using the Register by Web button (continued from To register manually)

1. Click the Register by Web button.

2. Your Web browser will automatically be opened and you will be directed to  http://www.globalscape.com/register/

3. Click in the text area on the opened Web page and paste the information from the Manual Registration box.

4. Click the Register me button.

5. The Web site will automatically create a registry patch (.reg file). Save and download the registry patch.

6. Double-click the registry patch to manually register your software.

To adjust proxy settings

Perform the following steps if you are behind a firewall and having difficulty connecting to the registration system:

1. Choose Help > Enter your serial number from the menu bar. The Online Registration dialog box will appear.

2. Enter your Serial Number and Name in the appropriate boxes.

3. Click the Proxy button.

4. Choose the appropriate proxy setting radio button:

• Use system HTTP proxy setting uses the setting as defined by your system.

• Do not use HTTP proxy ignores all proxy settings.

• Use HTTP proxy allows you to define your proxy setting.

5. Click the OK button.

6. Click the Register button. You should be presented with a message that says your registration was successful.
