CuteZIP is a compression utility designed to compress and extract files commonly called archives.
CuteZIP includes the following features:
Powerful Password Protection and Encryption
Aside from the standard PKZIP encryption supported by nearly all archive utilities, CuteZIP offers optional Twofish encryption. Twofish is much more powerful and can withstand "brute force" attacks much better than the industry standard PKZIP method.
An Easy to Use Drag-and-Drop Interface
The novice should find CuteZIP intuitive and simple to use. Yet CuteZIP allows the advanced user powerful functionality. CuteZIP supports Windows® style drag-and-drop movement of files, a built-in Navigation Window, and the ability to create and extract archives outside of the program using Windows' right-click menus.
CuteZIP's unique and powerful Multiple File Extraction feature allows you to uncompress multiple files simultaneously by selecting the archives in your Windows Explorer, right-clicking them and then choosing Extract.
Do you have a specific task you want to accomplish without using the CuteZIP interface? CuteZIP's command line support lets you use CuteZIP’s features from within batch files, macros, and other situations.
CuteZIP's tabbed interface lets you work with multiple archives within the same window, rather than in separate sessions.
CuteZIP not only supports the industry standard ZIP archive format, it also allows various forms of CABCAB compression (including the powerful CAB LZX:21), UNIX style GZIP and Tar balls, Quake level PK3 compression, PAK and the popular ACE and ARJ formats (ACE and ARJ require external 3rd party applications for creation, however extraction is built in).
Full Windows Shell Integration
Just right-click with your mouse to add files to archives! Using the Windows right-click menus (shell menus), you can create archives, add files to archives, extract and convert archives.
Compression using CAB/LZX Architecture
Most users recognize that CAB files provide greater compression than the more popular ZIP format. CuteZIP allows you to create varying levels of CAB compression using MSZIP or LZX 15-21 formats. LZX:21 produces a significantly smaller archive than the ZIP standard.
You can splice up large archives across diskettes or ZIP drives. Volume sizes can either be configured or automatically detected by CuteZIP.
