What is CuteSITE Builder?

CuteSITE Builder is a program designed to help regular people create Web sites and Web content without learning HTML programming or graphic design. Using CuteSITE Builder, you can build and publish Web sites yourself, quickly, professionally, and painlessly.

Like a Web site, a CuteSITE Builder file is made up of individual pages. Each page contains a chunk or unit of information. You connect pages and the information within pages (for example, a phrase or title) using links – similar to the links you see in this Help system. CuteSITE Builder makes it easy to create links and keep them updated as your Web site grows and changes.

As you create pages and links, the CuteSITE Builder map lets you keep track of your location in the file and of the relationships between pages. In the map, pages appear as icons. If you click a page icon, the information in that page appears in the page area, just below the map. You can also display an OverAll map that gives you a bird’s-eye view of your document, or a more traditional outline. You can also include the map when you publish the file as a Web site, as a navigational aid for visitors.

When you create a new CuteSITE Builder file, at least one page appears by default. You can create as many new pages as you need. To add content to a page, click in the page and start typing. You can also add text, pictures, objects, or lists of links to the borders around pages, or apply page layouts to give groups of pages a uniform look.

CuteSITE Builder includes a number of rich, flexible designs and templates that let you achieve the high-quality look of hand-crafted Web pages even if you’re not a graphic designer. Each document design includes a series of page layouts to give groups of pages a uniform look designed for different purposes: for example, layouts for a home page and a details page.

At any time during development, you can preview your CuteSITE Builder file in a browser, so you can experience it as visitors will and make any necessary changes. When you’re ready, you can publish the document right from CuteSITE Builder.
